Lotus Wave Shawl
I bought this as a kit in 2002 from the designer, Margaret Halas at Knitters Fantasy in Warren, Ohio.
A garter stitch shawl with knitted in (not added on later) lace trim. I enjoyed the interesting construction. It starts at the back bottom point using a provisional cast on and short rows. It is then worked back and forth, edge to edge with garter stitch in the middle.
Margaret gives directions charted and in writing. I found it useful to use index cards for the 14 row repeat. She recommends wool - which is wise because of the blocking involved. I tried it with Berrocco's Lustra but because of the 50% tencel content it lacked the necessary stretchability. It will make a good first lace class project.
